Mira introduce the NEW Mira Advance

Here at AllAboutElectrics.co.uk, We are always trying to stay on top of the market especially when it comes to our electric shower range. Recently Mira Showers have made the old Advance ATL 8.7kW obsolete making way for a newer, more stylish approach to the much loved Advance range. The NEW Mira Advance ATL features a 9.0kW heating element which gives this new model a 300W power advantage compared to the old Mira Advance, but don’t worry as far as the pipe work and electrical connections are concerned they are all the same as the previous model so if you are replacing an old model it should be a relatively straight forward job. We also have introduced the Advance 9.0kW ATL Flex which comes with a longer hose and riser rail and also more prominent and easy to use control knob. Mira have clearly outdone them selves with this model and it shows in the design.

January 2008

As we write, the 17th Edition Regulations are due to be published this month and should be in force from July. The main question which has been taxing this office recently is:To RCD or RCBO?There is a new requirement to protect all circuits in bathrooms, plus cables buried less than 50mm from the surface of a wall, floor or ceiling (with no other protection) with 30 mA protective devices. So it seems clear that extra devices will be required in most installations. What is not clear is which way the industry will go - RCDs or RCBOs? The Answer?

We suspect the answer will be a mixture of the current split load boards fitted with extra RCBOs, new dual RCD boards and more RCBOs used on refurbishments. To ensure we can provide the right answer, we have come up with great value solutions for all these options, using our fantastic Basics brand! We have 6-40 Amp RCBOs (with a 50 Amp on the way) which will fit all Basics boards and retrofit many other manufacturers as well. We also have 8 or 12 MCB way consumer units (with flexible layouts) fitted with 2x 30mA RCDs. Which means the whole board can be 30mA protected - i.e. on the 8 way board you could have 3 ways on the first RCD and 5 on the second, and so on, and of course our existing great value ranges. And as you would expect, working with other top suppliers like Crabtree & MK your local branch can offer a whole host of other 17th Edition ready solutions, all at great value for money - so why risk using anyone else?
