Ceiling Mounted Pressence detector
This vitesse ceiling mounted presence detector is designed to reduce the amount of time lighting is left on unnecessarily, for example if an area is unoccupied or if there is sufficient natural light. Using passive infrared detection (PIR) the detector monitors the detection zone for occupancy; if a person is detected then the sensor will automatically turn the lighting on. When the area is vacated, the lighting will turn off after a preset time delay. The detector has a built in adjustable photocell which will keep the lighting switched off if there is sufficient natural light. Fitting of presence detectors reduces energy consumption in buildings, savings of 40 percent can be easily achieved (dependent on occupancy patterns). These sensors can also be used to control ventilation and heating loads.
